New URL for a New Year and New Team

Hi Fusion Family,

Well, I've just spent the week with family and friends, and I haven't been thinking a bit about school, but now, on this rainy afternoon, as I procrastinate from doing my exercise routine, I have a moment (just a moment) to export the 2011-2012 slideshow into a movie (I'll post the link shortly) and let you know that we have a new URL for this site....

This is because our beloved Team 11 is changing it's name as part of further integration into our "House System."  So, for you former Team 11-ers...you can still "Google" this page pretty easily, or just get used to the new name.

So, I hope you are all having a safe, fun, and relaxing vacation.  Don't forget to read a book!

Quarter 4 Grades Are Closed!

So, I've checked my email one last time...and everything that is in, is in.  Grades are closed.  I'm very proud of all of you.  I'll be contacting your families tomorrow regarding awards.  The hardest award for me to figure out is the effort award, since all of you have worked so hard this year.

I have to say, you kids have impressed me.  Thanks!

Final English Homework for the Year!

Remember the commonly confused word pairs that we've been working on?  Two assignments:

1)  Develop your own exercise sentences for a "quiz."  Write 10 sentences, based off of the ten word pairs that you have selected to work on.

2)  Create a full-color mnemonic device poster for one of those pairs.  Some kids choose to do an acronym or a imagery sentence to help us be able to remember the spelling and meaning difference between each word in the pair.  The poster must have a picture, though the mnemonic device must be able to make sense without a picture.

Both assignments due Friday!

Acronym example (Affect vs. Effect):

Remember
Affect
Verb
Effect
Noun

Imagery Sentence example (Whole vs. Hole):  Whole Whales Have Holes
